I've turned to many places without much luck....

Anyone know how to find a decent photographer for a lower price? I keep seeing $2k+ for just the photographer, and no way in hell can I pull that... Tried thumbtack and might interview a few, but other than that I'm at a loss. The knot etc etc are all listings of high priced people. :(

An NSX for your troubles:

lol oh man, i'm dealing with the same. I'm now having 4 weddings lol. Got one out of the way at least but it seems what is important is how many items your getting in the packages. Blue ray, albums, and however many big photos per dollar. I'm having to drop quality for more items

Get examples and stuff.

Where are you located?

Honestly you (or her) probably are friends with somebody who's hobby is photography and can do at least 75% of the quality that a pro can for literally a tenth of the cost if that.

get married in a movie theater have a green screen behind and you can be married anywhere in the world or even galaxy for that matter. I might patent this lucrative business idea.

I'm going to have to do the same thing soon. I think I am going to hit up local colleges and search out the photography classes and get it on the cheap.

Initially, I was going to go back to Oppo since I don't know anything about weddings and all that, but the NSX reminded me of something.

I've seen lots of people who mainly take pictures of cars also do weddings as a side gig. Maybe you could find a photographer? Actually that would probably be expensive

Maybe if you know anyone (especially a family member) who likes photography, you could ask them.

"Woah, what a photo! Where did you get married?"

"OMNICRON PERSEI 8."

"Oh... is that near Atlanta?"

Awesome wedding ideas: Give every guest a gopro camera that they must wear on their head at all times. Then, you can take the footage and recreate the entire wedding, from any perspective, any time you want. Give the photographer one, and even if he takes bad pictures, you can re-take your own by screenshotting the gopro.

Likewise, there will be none of those "remember that?" "not really" moments.

And think of the blackmail potential!

Only issue- each gopro is expensive. Soooo adding up to $2k+ will happen in no time flat.

Are you a photographer? And yeah... this whole thing is frustrating to me.

Mostly because it is all absurd cash for a single day... I need a house and a corvette...

I was thinking of this... problem is the people that come to mind are going to be attending anyway, and I don't want them stuck being photo man.

I will still explore this option though, because it seems the best to me.

Wedding will be Chicago area. I will have to try craigslist, good idea!

Well, you'd only rent them, and then take the storage off of them. Rental rates for a decent GoPro can't be more than 20-30$/day. You could outfit at least 100 guests pretty cheaply, but even 15 guests would be enough to get plenty of coverage for even a large wedding.

Problem is, not sure if anywhere does allow you to rent GoPros in bulk.

Honestly if one of my friends asked me to and I genuinely like photography Id do it in a heartbeat, tell them its their gift and pay them a couple hundred bucks and I think everybody wins

I don't like weddings (though I do like wedding cakes) but in my opinion, high-quality textbook "beautiful" pictures would be a lot more boring than something that let you really remember how it felt, the noises, the colors, the elation, etc. Dunno, your post just popped that idea into my head of having a mass recording from different people's perspectives.

Yeah that is a great idea. I might just do at least one for funzies if anything. $20 for a day wouldn't be bad at all.

lol, part I: the garage(s) is mine, and mine only. You have the privilege of keeping your car in there, but that is at my discretion. I will have the tools I desire and cars I desire in said garage(s).

Nah we can share it. Other than her car being in there to keep warm mostly during winter, she doesn't really want anything to do with the garage.
